Make the outcome specific
Describe the agreed deliverable in everyday language. A clear finish line helps everyone understand what is included, what is not, and which decisions still need to be made.
Connect tasks to people
For each action, record an owner, an achievable date, and any dependency. A list of tasks without these details can look complete while leaving the real work uncertain.
Keep updates short and useful
Use a consistent update covering completed work, upcoming actions, and decisions required. Surface changes early rather than waiting until a missed milestone creates a larger problem.
Plan the handover
Reserve time to organize final files, document open items, and confirm responsibility for next steps. A project is easier to close when the handover is part of the plan from the beginning.
